Waiting on Summer

So I recently somewhat started Weight Watchers with my mom so that I can be in the best shape for my wedding and so that at my work party this summer I can show off my amazing "bod" while others will be swimming with their T-Shirts over their swim suits because they have been eating burgers every single day. It's been pretty easy for me to eat healthy. I'm really kicked up my fruit and vegetable intake and I've been cooking some super delicious dinners for my parents and I. With almost a whole week down I'm amazed and much more energized and better I feel. I've been going to a lot of classes at Golds. My go-to classes that I seem to always be in the mood for is Yoga and Zumba and lucky for me last night they were one right after the other! I plan to run the Ragnar either this Summer or Fall, whichever one I get around to.
Also I've been super busy trying to finish everything for finals.
I honestly feel like pulling my hair out at this point but soon enough it will be over and I can enjoy my summer!
Plans for the summer:
Read many good books
Make plenty of delicious dishes and desserts
Go hiking everyday
Re-teach myself how to longboard
Sew myself a few new skirts
Run some 5k's and other races, maybe a half-marathon if i'm feeling risky
Use my Seven Peaks pass hopefully every dang day!
Plan more wedding stuff
Make wedding decorations
and enjoy the warm sunshine :)

I know this picture is kinda Cliche and very "High School" of me but this summer will be SUPERB.

Jazz Game

My mom's friend has season tickets to the Jazz, and so the games that her and her husband don't want to go to, their give the tickets away. well lucky for me my mom and dad got the tickets and didn't want to go so they gave them to Tyler and I. We were 13 rows up from the floor and right next to the Jazz teams bench! it was awesome!
                                        .
The Funniest part about the whole game was:
1. We did not know a single player on the team (besides Milsap)
2. There was a HILARIOUS black lady and her daughter next to us yelling every 10 seconds "Take that BAWL, take that BAWL" or "Not in ow house"
3. Funnier than the black lady screaming was the 2 high school kids sitting behind her that kept yelling the things she was yelling to make fun of her
4. Tyler had a twin only 3 rows behind us. Reunited finally at last!

Robintino's, Insidious

Last weekend the gang met up at Robintino's in Bountiful for some delicious Italian Food. Although our waitress was slightly retarded saying to Megan " oh my gosh your ring is so gorgeous (talking about her engagement ring), and then she looks at Kyle and goes oh I hope I didn't ruin the surprise, I didn't know if he was gunna propose or not" K seriously? If she has a ring ON HER FINGER then he prolly already proposed. Just a thought.

After dinner we went to the Gateway and saw Insidious. At the beginning I thought it was going to be exactly like Paranormal Activity but the further it got into it, the more intense it was. Especially the ending! I think if you're in the mood for a good scare, you should go see :)

Duckies

Ah! Today was such a nice and gorgeous day outside! 63 degrees when we were out around 7:00pm. Tyler and I both decided that we would get out and enjoy the sunshine while it was here so we went to Zupas, grabbed a sandwich and a summer salad and then went to Barnes Park to play with the duckies. My brother decided that he was going to bring his son to come play with us. We all had so much fun. Deogi had a ball running around and enjoying the fresh air. Not to mention that little girls that were around giving him all of their attention.

Tyler and Deogi at the park (I know it looks like tyler is holding a beer, but let me tell you that it is a mexican drink)

Sushi

Last night we went to Tyler's sister Jen's house to celebrate her birthday! Happy birthday jen :)
After eating some delicious red velvet cake we headed to our favorite place Shin Sei for some much needed delicious sushi. My treat. We ordered Veggie Tempura for our appetizer. For our entrée's we ordered two sushi rolls. Tyler picked one and I picked the other.

Our entree's came with Miso Soup and a very tasty house salad
My delicious pick: The Flaming George(or Gorge as Tyler kept calling it). The one with the (orange) spicy mayo on top. Lots of flavor and very much delicious.
Tylers not-so-much delicious pick: The Tsunami. The one with loads of fresh fish on top WHICH was the chef's choice. Lucky us, she wanted to grace us with Octopus! good choice babe. Sarcasm.

The Oil in my Candle

Since next week is General Conference for my church, they decided to have this Sunday be fast Sunday. Now I usually HATED fast Sunday's at my home ward because the same people would get up week after week saying the same old things and it just got old. I want to hear the people's testimonies who are still learning, and who make mistakes and learn from them because for me they are the most touching/real/enjoyable testimonies to hear. Well ever since we have joined a new Single's Ward at the beginning of this year I have loved fast and testimony meeting because I get exactly what I want out of it.

Since I recently got new scriptures for my birthday I decided I'd go through my old ones to see if there were any papers or notes worthy of keeping, when I came across a poem that I wrote one day in seminary my sophmore year. Just the last two weeks I have had this feeling that I needed to share the poem I wrote to people but I just didn't know how. Well today while sitting in sacrement and listening to everyone bear their testimonies I just knew I needed to get up there and bear my testimony. My hands were beginning to get sweaty, my heart started to race, and my mind began to talk me out of it. Finally I came to my good senses and realized that this was a prompting from God and that if I just ignored his impressions in my life, that they would eventually disappear. Sitting up there on the stand waiting for the couple people in front of me to go, I honestly thought I was going to pass out or die from my heart palpitations. I thought it was going to pound right outta my chest, but as I said a silent prayer to myself I was overcome with an amazing sense of comfort and security.

I can tell you that it was so amazing to get up there, and as intimidating it was, it was relieving just to see the few ladies that I saw who began to cry by the reading of my poem. I know that even if I touched just ONE person today, my purpose of going up there was fulfilled. I am so glad I listened to my Heavenly Father. It was probably the first time I ever bore my testimony in front of the whole congregation of my ward, or any ward i've ever been apart of and I loved the rewarding feeling it gave me. It was exactly what I needed today.

I'm going to end this post just by sharing the poem that I wrote well over 3 years ago. Enjoy

The Oil In My Candle
The oil in my candle is fading
there's nothing left in there.
My decisions have started changing
as a chill of darkness has come across the air.
So far away from everyone
no reason left to try,
there's no one to relate to,
time so easily slipped by.
It started out as a bright burning flame
fueled by a sea of oil,
each drop was added because of a good deed,
or the touching of a soul.
But life goes on and takes its course,
leading you on two paths;
The one you choose matters most
it will lead you to wrong or right,
So many make the wrong decision,
and walk down in the dimmest of light.

The oil in my candle has burnt out,
I need to find some more.
It's not the stuff you just find anywhere though,
you can't buy this oil at the store.
You have to work hard to gain it,
getting tested everyday.
How you choose to resolve the situation
is what will pave the way.
reading your scripture, church, and prayer
all add oil to your candle wick.
Fasting, giving, and helping someone out
these are the habits you pray to stick.

The oil in my candle is increasing,
its starting to get full.
Continuing what's good for me
will help me reach my goal.
The oil in my candle is full now
as the lighting starts to inflate,
My happiness is increasing,
and now life seems so much more great.
