Duckies

Ah! Today was such a nice and gorgeous day outside! 63 degrees when we were out around 7:00pm. Tyler and I both decided that we would get out and enjoy the sunshine while it was here so we went to Zupas, grabbed a sandwich and a summer salad and then went to Barnes Park to play with the duckies. My brother decided that he was going to bring his son to come play with us. We all had so much fun. Deogi had a ball running around and enjoying the fresh air. Not to mention that little girls that were around giving him all of their attention.

Sushi

Last night we went to Tyler's sister Jen's house to celebrate her birthday! Happy birthday jen :)
After eating some delicious red velvet cake we headed to our favorite place Shin Sei for some much needed delicious sushi. My treat. We ordered Veggie Tempura for our appetizer. For our entrée's we ordered two sushi rolls. Tyler picked one and I picked the other.

Our entree's came with Miso Soup and a very tasty house salad
My delicious pick: The Flaming George(or Gorge as Tyler kept calling it). The one with the (orange) spicy mayo on top. Lots of flavor and very much delicious.
Tylers not-so-much delicious pick: The Tsunami. The one with loads of fresh fish on top WHICH was the chef's choice. Lucky us, she wanted to grace us with Octopus! good choice babe. Sarcasm.

The Oil in my Candle

Since next week is General Conference for my church, they decided to have this Sunday be fast Sunday. Now I usually HATED fast Sunday's at my home ward because the same people would get up week after week saying the same old things and it just got old. I want to hear the people's testimonies who are still learning, and who make mistakes and learn from them because for me they are the most touching/real/enjoyable testimonies to hear. Well ever since we have joined a new Single's Ward at the beginning of this year I have loved fast and testimony meeting because I get exactly what I want out of it.

Since I recently got new scriptures for my birthday I decided I'd go through my old ones to see if there were any papers or notes worthy of keeping, when I came across a poem that I wrote one day in seminary my sophmore year. Just the last two weeks I have had this feeling that I needed to share the poem I wrote to people but I just didn't know how. Well today while sitting in sacrement and listening to everyone bear their testimonies I just knew I needed to get up there and bear my testimony. My hands were beginning to get sweaty, my heart started to race, and my mind began to talk me out of it. Finally I came to my good senses and realized that this was a prompting from God and that if I just ignored his impressions in my life, that they would eventually disappear. Sitting up there on the stand waiting for the couple people in front of me to go, I honestly thought I was going to pass out or die from my heart palpitations. I thought it was going to pound right outta my chest, but as I said a silent prayer to myself I was overcome with an amazing sense of comfort and security.

I can tell you that it was so amazing to get up there, and as intimidating it was, it was relieving just to see the few ladies that I saw who began to cry by the reading of my poem. I know that even if I touched just ONE person today, my purpose of going up there was fulfilled. I am so glad I listened to my Heavenly Father. It was probably the first time I ever bore my testimony in front of the whole congregation of my ward, or any ward i've ever been apart of and I loved the rewarding feeling it gave me. It was exactly what I needed today.

I'm going to end this post just by sharing the poem that I wrote well over 3 years ago. Enjoy

The Oil In My Candle
The oil in my candle is fading
there's nothing left in there.
My decisions have started changing
as a chill of darkness has come across the air.
So far away from everyone
no reason left to try,
there's no one to relate to,
time so easily slipped by.
It started out as a bright burning flame
fueled by a sea of oil,
each drop was added because of a good deed,
or the touching of a soul.
But life goes on and takes its course,
leading you on two paths;
The one you choose matters most
it will lead you to wrong or right,
So many make the wrong decision,
and walk down in the dimmest of light.

The oil in my candle has burnt out,
I need to find some more.
It's not the stuff you just find anywhere though,
you can't buy this oil at the store.
You have to work hard to gain it,
getting tested everyday.
How you choose to resolve the situation
is what will pave the way.
reading your scripture, church, and prayer
all add oil to your candle wick.
Fasting, giving, and helping someone out
these are the habits you pray to stick.

The oil in my candle is increasing,
its starting to get full.
Continuing what's good for me
will help me reach my goal.
The oil in my candle is full now
as the lighting starts to inflate,
My happiness is increasing,
and now life seems so much more great.

Butterscotch Bubble Bread, Car Keyed, Rocking Front Board

Friday was yet another super fun night. I love the friends that Tyler has that are also engaged. they are all so fun to hang out with and so similar to us in many ways. We invited Kyle and Megan, and Lucas and Alix over to Tyler's place and cooked pizza. I made a yummy Butterscotch Bubble Bread that I saw while watching the Daily Dish and decided I had to make it. It turned out amazing! Everyone loved it. After socializing (boys with their boy talk, and the girls with their wedding talk) we decided we would head downstairs to play games. Lucas and Alix taught us all how to play Nertz or Nerdz whatever it is! It was a lot of fun. Me and Tyler however weren't too great at it. After that we taught everyone how to play Rummy. With a quick snack of Puppy Chow or Muddy Buddies made by Lucas' lovely fiance we finished the night with another great game of Clue. What better way did we have to end the night then enjoying some delicious jello/cheesecake/pretzel dessert that Megan made!

(BTW i'm in the process of typing up my version of this Butterscotch Bubble Bread so if any of you would like it just let me know and i'll get it to ya)

Also on my way home from the Dinner and game night at Tyler's I was so tired that I decided I'd run the red light getting off the freeway. Immediately my radar detector goes off and I about pooped my pants. Quickly to my knowledge I noticed a HUGE car crash up ahead with an ambulance headed towards me in the wrong lane so the car infront of me and I both pulled over. Yes I did count 18 police cars, 4 ambulances, and 1 firetruck. Only in Kaysville I tell you. Only in Kaysville.
On Saturday while my dad and all my brother's were away at the UFC fights in Seattle my mother and I thought we'd go out shopping at our favorite discount store Bullward. NEVER AGAIN. When we came back to my mom's nice and new Navigator someone had keyed down the ENTIRE driver's side of the car. It was crushing to know how hard my parent's had worked to get this nice car, and some one had to be such a prick to do something like that. Karma is definitely headed their way I can tell you that. And I will also say I am never supporting that place again.

Orange Creamsicle Cupcakes

With my love of baking I like to find random ingredients in my house and use them to create a delicious cupcake so yesterday I decided to do an Orange Creamsicle Cupcake. If you are interested in the recipe just let me know :)

The Cupcake: is made out of a homemade orange cupcake batter with real pureed oranges
The Frosting: is an orange buttercream flavored with orange extract and orange juice
The Marshmallow Fluff: is homemade by heating sugar on a stove, and mixing it with egg whites

The were SCRUMPTIOUS!!

Happy Wedding Day, Bowling

Friday Tyler's brother Marc was married in the Bountiful Temple to his love Chantel. It was such a pretty day for a wedding. Chantel looked gorgeous when she came out of the temple. Her bouquet had thee prettiest flowers that a lot of us had ever seen.

While waiting for the couple to get their pictures taken my cute soon to be family-in-laws played by the water fountain with the cute girls. I loved how happy and cute everyone looks in this picture :)

Waiting for Marc and Chan to come out of the Temple

On Saturday Tyler as well as my lovely mother and father had the privilege to go to The Bridal Show at Thanksgiving Point with me. I must admit it was a loooong day but it still was very fun. I did one of the stage contests that they had that was like the TV show Minute to Win It, although i was pretty good at the first challenge and was the closest one to winning, the judge changed the rules right as i was about to win, and I lost. It was still fun tho and I got a $25 gift card for jewelry which was fun. I also won a drawing for a $300 gift card for laser hair removal so that was nice :) While we were at the bridal show we found our photographer and videographer. They have really good work and they are a husband and wife so you know that they will work well together on our wedding day. Their business is called Mo*Tif you can click on their name to see some of their work.

After the bridal show we met up with Kyle and Megan and went to Boondocks for a ravishing game of Bowling. Now we all know Kyle is professional at bowling so his amazing score didn't count. I beat Tyler and to me that was all that mattered :) When we got back to my place after bowling we ate pizza, hot wings, and ended the night in my hot tub.
All in all it was a great weekend

Sleep over with Auntie

My adorable nephew Jaden and I got to have a little sleepover last night. He went to bed in his crib but when he awoke crying I decided I'd let him cuddle up next to auntie all night long. It was the cutest thing. I'd wake up in the middle of the night and he'd be cuddling on my chest with his arms wrapped around me. So i'd move him back to his spot that he could be comfy and then i'd wake up again to him cuddling with me. Finally I just let him lay on top of me and we cuddled all night long.
He loves playing and wrestling with the puppies
This is his face he makes when he wants to make sure you're watching him.
So darn cute.
He loves getting kisses from Deogi

He loves his favorite Auntie :)
Love you Jay.

Dreams DO come TRUE

Yesterday I had the privilege to fullfill the little girl dreams inside of me and go Wedding Gown shopping with my mother. We had so much fun trying on all these different dresses and seeing which styles I did and didn't like. First we went to A Bride Beautiful. They had some really pretty dresses and I even found my best friend Maggie's wedding gown there, she just doesn't know it :) I fell in love with two gowns their but mostly because the jacket that I had on top of it was stunning. After that we rushed to Fantasy Bridal for our next appointment. While there I wasn't feeling completely engulfed in any of the dresses. I was comparing them all to the two previous dresses that I had been head over hills for. I just wasn't think I was gunna get anywhere with that store. Finally the owner of the shop came over right as I was telling the girl helping me how I loved the top of one dress, and the bottom of the other and I had just wished that they had a dress that was like a marriage between the two dresses. Was it my lucky day? Holy Hannah yes it was!! The owner comes over to me with a stunning dress that just got in the night before. No one had worn it yet, it hadn't even been pressed yet. It's like it was meant to be. I couldn't wait to rush back to my dressing room to put it on. When i walked out to where my mom was sitting I could just tell by the look on her face that she loved the dress. From the second on saw myself in it in the mirror I could not stop smiling. I had a grin from ear to ear. Finally Mauricea, the girl helping me, looks at me and says "Chantel, is this your dress?" IT WAS!! I was so excited. My silly mom wouldn't stop bragging about how she was right with saying that she thinks i'd like this style and that i'd look good in this certain dress and I was so set on what I wanted that I didn't give a thought to her ideas. Until I realized I looked AMAZING in the style she wanted :)
I'm a very happy girl.
My dress will be here by the 2nd week in May, and the fabric to make my dress Temple appropriate will be in by the end of May. Unti
l then, I will dream of my dress every night until we are reunited again :)))

Bridal Showers and Clue

Last weekend was a lot of fun. My Fiancé's brother is getting married to a girl who coincidentally is also named Chantel so on Friday we had a Bridal Shower for it. Brenda, Steph, and Jen all did a really good job putting it together and making sure everyone was having a good time. We started the evening off with playing a matching game where you had to match a word that related to the wedding with a candy bar. Lets just say i ROCKED at that game. After I had already won 4 candies I decided I'd start helping all the ladies around me get some candies. I guess a photographic memory can sometimes be a good thing. After that we had amazing Taco Salads with pulled pork like the kind from cafe rio. IT WAS DELICIOUS. they did a wonderful job preparing the food. Later we had a word game where Chantel had to guess the word that was on her Tiara and then she would get a gift that related to it. Chantel and Marc are getting sealed for time and all eternity tomorrow in the Bountiful Temple and I am so excited for the two of them. Congrats guys!

On Saturday I got to meet one of Tyler's old friends, name Kyle, who is also engaged. Him and his fiancé Megan were so much fun to be with. We started the night off by going to Jakes Over the Top and getting some delicious ice cream. After we were done laughing and enjoying ourselves there we went back to their apartment and played a ravishing game of clue. It was such an intense game!! It wasn't like the typical clue that everyone is used to playing while they grow up. Nope it was a new version that was much, much more detailed and intense. I was the first one to guess on what was in the envelope and I was killed. Dang you Megan! she through me off with her guesses making me think I had everything right. Luckily Kyle won, which made him very happy.

Once we were done with clue we headed to the Megaplex in Ogden to see the hilarious movie Just Go With It. I throughly enjoyed every minute of this movie. It was funny, and romantic, and very entertaining. Something that I however don't get, and Tyler COMPLETELY disagrees with me on this, BUT I do not think Brooklyn Decker is all that she's cracked up to be. Yes she is pretty, i'm not denying that but for being one of Sports Illustrated's swimsuit model I don't think she deserves that title. There is just something about her belly that really bothers me and i don't know why!! I guess its just cuz i feel like I could hit the gym consecutively for a few weeks and look like her. Who knows. Maybe i'm crazy?

Tempanyaki and Cirque Du Clearlink

Last weekend was a lot more eventful than a normal weekend for me and Ty. We usually just go to dinner and a movie or hang out around the house with family but not this weekend.

FRIDAY:
One of my good friends from high school was celebrating her 21st birthday! Happy Birthday Biffer! So a bunch of girls that I went to high school with met up at Tepanyaki in Layton to celebrate. Tyler came with me and he also enjoyed himself. It was good to see some of the girls that I was close friends with, to see how some have changed, and catch up on what was going on with everyone. We ordered Sushi and it was okay, but definitely NOT my favorite sushi i've had. After dinner Tyler and I went and watched a movie with my friend Holly and her boyfriend Jordan and his mansion of a house. IT WAS HUGE and extremely nice. I was forced to pick out the movie so I decided on The Bucket List because it's a great movie and makes me cry every time. Everyone else was a little iffy on my selection because they said that every time they tried to watch it they fell asleep. Well out of everyone, I happened to be the one who fell asleep! haha. It was good to hang out with some new people especially because they are in the same stage of life as we are for the most part.

SATURDAY:
besides working from 8-5 saturday was a good day. After I got off work I headed home to get ready for Tyler's work party based on the Theme Cirque Du Soleil. We had gone shopping earlier in the week for masks to wear to the party. His work rented our The Rail in Salt Lake as their venue for the party and it was the perfect place! They had all kinds of yummy food from ceasar's salad to pasta to strawberry sprite. After the awards they had a quick intermission with desserts. This was my favorite part! They had a cotton candy machine, carmel, and white chocolate covered popcorn, carmeled apples, basically things you'd find at a fair. the hypnotist they hired wasn't funny at all and he was a little crude which made it not very enjoyable, not to mention not even half of the people who went up to get hypnotized actually got hypnotized. All in all it was a lot of fun, plus it gave me an excuse to get all doll'ed up and feel pretty :)

The Set Up for the party was incredible
The entertainment was filled with Dancers, Jugglers, and Rope Twirlers
